winter wonderland.

Those where the lyrics that I was singing in my head while walking through this winter wonderland. The snow started to fall from the heavens the night before these pictures were taken and we were delighted about the thought of being able to play take pictures in the snowy weather. The next morning we didn't waste any time and started to take pictures in the snow as soon as we could. Let me tell you it was waaaaay too cold to stay out long and I was fashionably (not sensibly) dressed! So you can imagine how cold we were.

This is probably one of my favorite outfits for the winter time yet! The mint green beanie was a gift for my thirteenth birthday (which was a loooong time ago), the earrings are from Charlotte Russe, the sweater is from Old Navy, the AMAZING trench coat was a vintage find, and the gloves where a gift from a friend. I think this outfit is perfect for walking in a winter wonderland, but not for the 20 degree weather!

I love, love, love the snow but not very many people where I live love it as much as I do! One of my friend likes to call snow the devil's dandruff but I like to call snow kisses from heaven.

Hair | Long Gone, Literally

Hello Friends! So let's acknowledge the elephant in the room.... I CUT MY HAIR! Yes, those long locks and I had to bid adieu. The day I got my hair cut I heard "Why did you cut your hair? It was so beautiful before." and "I didn't know you were a short hair person." My father was even a little sad to see me with short hair. But I cut my hair to save it.

During the season in which my brother was in the hospital there was very little time to a have sit down meal, so the drive through restaurant was the way to go! --YUCK! When you're not eating food with a high nutritional level your hair, nails, etc. won't grow as glamorous as you wish.  Therefore my hair stopped growing as much, it started breaking, and the ends (pause for dramatic effect) started thinning.

I tried everything to save my hair. Natural deep conditioners, essential oils, less heat usage, and trims didn't work; we were past the point of no return. 

Finally I said enough is enough, it's time to say goodbye. Snip-Snip went the scissors and bye-bye went my deadly dull hair.

Many have asked "Do you like your hair short?" and my answer is (drum-roll please!) YES! It's so thick and voluptuous. I am free from the chains of thin and dead ends. 

That's all folks! My hair story doesn't end here though, it's just the beginning of a fun adventure.

Cold Hands, Warm Heart.

                               
     

This week I had a magnificent privilege to take pictures of my beautiful sisters. I was able to make memories and bond with them during our little photoshoot. In my life I have been taught that good relationships between siblings will benefit both you and your family tremendously. As every day passes I realize more and more how grateful I am for the relationship that we have established. I encourage you this week to reach out to your loved ones, whether you have a good relationship or bad. Show mercy toward them because one day you may wish you had.
